About The Position

A Technician sets up and operates basic or small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring customer satisfaction. The role reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology. Work is performed in a hotel or convention center and may involve multiple hotel locations, irregular hours, and on-call status. Team members follow Encore appearance guidelines and work with audiovisual equipment and electrical components, including exposure to heights via lifts and ladders.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
External applicants must meet, validate, and complete all training and certifications required for the position within 60 days of the start date.
Internal applicants must meet training and certification requirements determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program for their current and prospective positions.
A valid driver’s license is required for team members who may operate Company vehicles.
Additional DOT requirements may apply.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree preferred.
One year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
One year of audio-visual experience or equivalent experience in an educational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and break down basic audiovisual equipment accurately and on time to support successful events.
Exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
Maintain positive client relationships through effective communication.
Meet with guests onsite to confirm their needs are met and equipment is operating properly.
Monitor events and check in with customers throughout the day.
Understand and foster the hotel-client relationship.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues, handling challenges and changes promptly and professionally.
Follow company processes and procedures and complete systems entries and paperwork accurately.
Use equipment sheets to determine equipment needed for setup and strike.
Coordinate with other staff and outside vendors regarding equipment.
Increase revenue through floor up-selling techniques.
Work with clients to finalize invoices.
Complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
Meet applicable training and certification requirements.
Adhere to appearance guidelines established by Encore for the hotel or local area.
