About The Position

The Event Server welcomes guests, supports seating, explains menus and daily specials, takes accurate food and drink orders, and sends orders to the kitchen and bar. The role involves checking food for accuracy and presentation, serving and refilling drinks, handling payments, clearing and resetting tables, answering phones, and assisting with closing cleanup. Servers are expected to provide professional, attentive service, address guest concerns appropriately, follow West Virginia liquor laws, and help teammates as needed. Pay is $3.00 per hour plus tips and gratuities.

Requirements

• Knowledge of state liquor laws and sound judgment about when a guest has had enough.
• Ability to stay organized and juggle priorities during busy shifts.
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional appearance.
• Ability to communicate easily with people from all backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• Restaurant experience is preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests, assist with seating, and explain the menu and daily specials.
• Accurately take food and drink orders, answer menu questions, and send orders to the kitchen and bar.
• Check plates for accuracy and presentation before they are served.
• Open and pour wine and champagne, follow West Virginia liquor laws, and check guest IDs.
• Keep drinks filled and guests satisfied throughout their meal.
• Handle payments, make change, and issue receipts.
• Clear and reset tables, answer the phone, and assist with closing cleanup.
• Resolve guest concerns using good judgment and involve a manager when appropriate.
• Help teammates when needed.
