About The Position

Allied Universal Event Services is hiring an Event Security Passenger Screener for a cruise terminal. The role involves screening passengers, visitors, and belongings while supporting security-related operations with professionalism and care. It combines a visible security presence, customer service, and communication in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on creating a smooth and welcoming experience for people entering the location.

The position offers flexible, part-time scheduling under 30 hours per week. Pay is $20 per hour. An active Virginia State Guard Card is required; the employer can assist with obtaining one at hire.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• An active Virginia State Guard Card is required; the employer can assist with obtaining one at hire.
• Must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• May be required to pass a Driver’s Record check.
• Must be professional, articulate, and able to exercise good independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Screen passengers, visitors, and belongings at a cruise terminal.
• Support security-related operations with professionalism and care.
• Assist with all aspects of event-day preparation and execution.
• Manage appropriate venue entry, including collecting or scanning tickets and verifying wristbands and badges.
• Direct traffic entering and exiting the venue.
• Understand and follow the policies, procedures, and regulations of different venues, facilities, and events.
• Greet guests in a friendly and personal manner and thank them at the end of interactions.
• Provide guests with helpful directions and suggestions to enhance their experience.
• Help ensure the cleanliness, operational efficiency, and maintenance of designated areas.
• Provide customer service and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
