About The Position

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, is hiring an Event Banquet Server for Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The role provides catering and event support for casual and executive events, typically serving groups of 12 to 150 people. The position is temporary and scheduled for 35–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with either a 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule. Occasional weekend work may be needed. The pay rate is $24.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in the food industry.
• Hospitality and banquet service experience.
• Ability to transport food and equipment to catering functions.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer relationships to maintain client satisfaction.
• Set up and serve casual and executive events, generally ranging in size from 12 to 150 attendees.
• Cook and follow menus and recipes.
• Greet customers and provide personal service and superior customer satisfaction.
• Transport food and equipment to catering functions.
• Answer phones and take requests as needed.
• Make deliveries across campus using various means of transportation, both inside and outside.
• Schedule and coordinate duties independently on all shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
