About The Position

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, provides temporary staffing support to Johns Hopkins locations. Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland is hiring an Event Banquet Server. The role involves preparing and serving events ranging in size from 12 to 150 guests, with larger events occurring rarely. The position pays $24.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday for 35–40 hours per week, with shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in the food industry.
• Hospitality and banquet service experience.
• Ability to transport food and equipment to catering functions.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer relationships to maintain client satisfaction.
• Set up and serve casual and executive events.
• Cook and follow menus and recipes.
• Greet customers and provide personal service and superior customer satisfaction.
• Transport food and equipment to catering functions.
• Answer phones and take requests when needed.
• Schedule and coordinate duties independently on all shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
