About The Position

The ES Attendant keeps hospital buildings clean and orderly by performing daily cleaning duties, including removing trash; cleaning rooms, halls, walls, and windows as needed; dusting and vacuuming; and maintaining a daily cleaning log. The position follows written policies, sanitation training, safety procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and hospital compliance efforts. The role reports to the Manager, Environmental Services. The schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays, non-standard hours, and may sometimes exceed 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital in the area of responsibility.
Obtain certification in BioHazard waste management within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of housekeeping policies and procedures.
Ability to meet the position's physical demands, including frequent standing, walking, hand and finger use, kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing or pulling 0–100+ lbs.

Experience with or knowledge of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of trash using accepted procedures.
Clean building floors by dusting and mopping, both wet and dry, according to written policies.
Perform job duties safely and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and compliance efforts.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Dust and clean furniture, woodwork, beds, fixtures, and other surfaces that collect dust or bacteria, following sanitation procedures as trained.
Clean and dust rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
Use appropriate electrical equipment according to established protocols.
Clean walls and windows as needed, and dust and vacuum.
Maintain a daily cleaning log.
