•$35 - $35•Remote

About The Position

Circle is seeking two long-term freelance translators specializing in European Spanish (es-ES). The role translates software UI text and online marketing content from English into clear, natural Spanish that reflects local language and cultural conventions, helping Circle provide a consistent, culturally relevant product and customer experience for Spanish-speaking audiences. After onboarding, translators work autonomously and asynchronously with Circle and the other Spanish translator, sharing work based on availability and coordinating coverage when needed. This is a remote independent-contractor engagement with limited meetings and regular collaboration in Slack.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated professional experience translating software user-interface text into Spanish.
  • Demonstrated professional experience translating online marketing content into Spanish.
  • Professional experience working in key-based translation or localization tools rather than only document-based translation workflows.
  • Native-level command of the confirmed Spanish variant and strong comprehension of English source content, demonstrated through relevant professional work.
  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed language guidance, and make sound judgment calls when source context is incomplete.
  • Willingness to participate in a review loop by investigating, reporting, and correcting quality-assurance issues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with online communities, creator-economy products, or software used by creators.
  • Experience localizing content for a SaaS, membership, community, or other digital product.

Responsibilities

  • Translate English software UI text delivered as keys, preserving meaning, clarity, tone, variables, and formatting requirements.
  • Translate online marketing content into persuasive, natural Spanish for the intended audience and confirmed regional variant.
  • Apply Circle’s translation guidelines, glossary, and style guide consistently across assigned work.
  • Use Circle-approved key-based translation tools and other approved systems, including approved AI tools.
  • Review and resolve quality-assurance issues identified during linguistic review.
  • Communicate availability, typical turnaround time, and delivery risks asynchronously in Slack.
  • Coordinate with Circle and the other Spanish translator to share work and maintain continuity during periods of unavailability.
