ES ATTENDANT

About The Position

The ES Attendant keeps hospital buildings clean and orderly by completing daily cleaning tasks, including removing trash; cleaning rooms, halls, walls, and windows as needed; dusting; vacuuming; and maintaining a daily cleaning log. The role follows written sanitation and safety procedures and applicable laws and regulations. The schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays, non-standard hours, and sometimes more than 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
Knowledge of housekeeping policies and procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer skills for hospital software used in the area of responsibility.
Certification in BioHazard waste management is required within six months of hire.
Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent standing, walking, hand and finger use, kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching outward and above the shoulders, and pushing and pulling 0–100+ pounds.

Experience with or knowledge of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of trash using accepted procedures.
Clean building floors by dusting and mopping, wet or dry, in accordance with written policies.
Perform work safely and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Dust and clean furniture, woodwork, beds, fixtures, and other surfaces that collect dust or bacteria, using trained sanitation procedures.
Clean and dust rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
Use appropriate electrical equipment according to established protocols.
Maintain a daily cleaning log.
