About The Position

Under general supervision, the Equipment Technician performs journeyman-level duties maintaining and repairing gas or diesel engines and other maintenance equipment. Other duties may be assigned. The position is in the Municipality of Anchorage's Parks & Recreation Department and is represented by IBEW-Tech, Local 1547, under the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Work is on-site at either the South Maintenance Shop or North Maintenance Shop in Anchorage, Alaska. Shifts vary: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (5/8s), or four 10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The hourly pay range is $37.32–$43.29. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the Municipality does not provide visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• Journeyman-level ability to perform maintenance and repair of gas or diesel engines and other maintenance equipment.
• Must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair gas or diesel engines and other maintenance equipment at the journeyman level under general supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
