About The Position

The Baillie Group is seeking a motivated, safety-focused Equipment Operator for its log yard in Covington Township, Pennsylvania. This full-time position supports daily mill and yard operations by safely operating heavy equipment while maintaining productivity and quality standards. The role involves handling logs, lumber, and other materials; completing equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance checks; and working with production and yard personnel to keep operations efficient. Requirements

• Ability to safely operate loaders, forklifts, or other industrial equipment.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety practices.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment inspections.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous heavy equipment operating experience in an industrial, manufacturing, logging, sawmill, or construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate loaders, skid steers, forklifts, excavators, and other material-handling equipment.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize logs, lumber, and other materials throughout the facility and yard.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance checks.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with yard organization and inventory movement to support production operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Work with production and yard personnel to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations.
