About The Position

As a Yard Equipment Operator, you will help keep Associated Electric Cooperative's power generation operations safe and efficient. You will operate heavy mobile equipment, support coal and ash handling systems, and work with an experienced team to maintain reliable plant operations. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 months of heavy equipment operating experience with bulldozers, haul trucks, scrapers, or similar mobile equipment.
• Plant experience and/or at least one year of heavy industrial mechanical or electrical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn coal yard systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, haul trucks, and scrapers to handle, condition, convey, and store coal and ash, and maintain plant grounds.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment, including routine lubrication, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on heavy mobile equipment, coal handling equipment, conveyors, and related systems.
• Identify equipment issues using mechanical and electrical skills, hand tools, and handheld technology, and communicate concerns before they affect operations.
• Support fellow operators and share knowledge as part of a safety-focused team.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and ready for reliable operation.
