About The Position

This is an 8-month co-op position starting in September 2026, with one opening available. The role is hybrid and located in Burnaby, BC. The Equipment Co-op will focus on improving equipment management efficiency, developing troubleshooting guides and maintenance plans, implementing tool-related aspects of a 5S program, and assisting in the organization and execution of infrastructure upgrades. This opportunity is within a company that has developed a groundbreaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation, the Globe® Pulsed Field System, which has received FDA approval and is undergoing commercial launch.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Enrolled in post-secondary program such as Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or other program related to manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Assist in equipment efficiency and down time studies
  • Assist in the management of spare parts inventories and sourcing
  • Work with engineers to develop maintenance plans and trouble-shooting procedures
  • Assist with calibration management
  • Assist in the organization and execution of infrastructure projects
  • Develop equipment tracking and management systems
  • Catalog and organize a production hand-tools as part of Kardium’s 5S program
  • Design and implement fixtures and equipment to improve manufacturing processes using CAD software
