We are seeking students currently enrolled in an engineering co-op (or internship) degree program, available for 4-16 month terms starting September 2026. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a civil, environmental, mechanical, electrical, computer or related engineering co-op (or internship) degree program from a post-secondary institution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team
  • Committed to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external parties
  • Ability to accurately analyze information
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies
  • Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation, and inclusion

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with related computer software applications (e.g. Google Workspace Applications, AutoCAD, Adobe Reader, Civil 3D, Solidworks, Microsoft Applications, Bluebeam)
  • Experience with project coordination and project management
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a City Driver's permit
  • Security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
  • Driving may be required for City business
