About The Position

The credentialed trainer provides successful training to a diverse audience for Henry Ford Health System’s implementation of an electronic healthcare record using EPIC applications. The role requires flexible work hours to meet the needs of the user community.

The trainer must complete the credentialing process, including an intensive five-week training program on the applications they will teach, competency checks, teach-backs, and a presentation of the application before a review panel. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three to five years of computer-related experience.
• One to two years of experience with electronic medical records or information systems, and/or one to two years of clinical or healthcare training experience.
• Attend and successfully complete the five-week Trainer Credentialing Program at an HFHS training site.
• Earn a score of at least 80% on the competency exam and successfully present a training topic.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Education in medical assisting, nursing, healthcare administration, project management, or information technology.
• A bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, a clinical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Instructional design experience.
• Computer-related experience in a medical clinic setting or training experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience with EMR training and/or implementation.

Responsibilities

• Train a diverse audience on the EPIC electronic healthcare record applications.
• Complete the trainer credentialing process, including application training, competency checks, teach-backs, and a presentation before a review panel.
• Work flexible hours to meet the needs of the user community.
