About The Position

The Principal Trainer II plans, develops, and maintains course curricula and supporting training materials for primary and secondary ITS applications. The role builds, tests, and maintains the training environment and related policy and procedure documentation; conducts training for new staff; and coordinates training for software upgrades and updates. The Principal Trainer II oversees training-environment build, testing, and maintenance by Principal Trainers I, assists with developing and communicating training schedules, and trains Credentialed Trainers to support classroom instruction. The position also serves as a backup in a secondary application for credentialing, works with the Training Manager and application coordinators to develop the ITS application training program, supports ancillary ITS projects related to application workflows, and develops virtual training documentation. The role provides end-user training throughout implementation, helps coordinate training schedules and class logistics, and supports Epic project teams as a change agent and advocate. It promotes the organization’s goals and objectives, encourages team members, and approaches responsibilities with a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
At least three years of experience in adult education, instructional design, or healthcare is preferred.
Certification in the primary ITS application is required at minimum; ongoing certification maintenance is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong people, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
Expected to travel between organizations and provide off-shift training as required.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
At least three years of experience in adult education, instructional design, or healthcare.
Clinical experience.
Minimum proficiency in a second application.
Skill and experience in adult education.
Ability to work across organizations with multiple audiences and change leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and maintain course curricula and supporting training materials for primary and secondary ITS applications.
Build, test, and maintain the training environment and related training policy and procedure documentation.
Conduct training for new staff and coordinate training for software upgrades and updates.
Oversee build, testing, and maintenance of the training environment by Principal Trainers I.
Assist in developing, communicating, and coordinating training schedules for managers and end users.
Ensure logistics, materials, and supplies are available for training classes.
Train Credentialed Trainers to assist with classroom training and serve as a backup in a secondary application for credentialing.
Work with the Training Manager and application coordinators to develop the ITS application training program.
Support ancillary ITS projects related to ITS application workflows and develop virtual training documentation.
Provide end-user training during all phases of implementation.
Support Epic project team members, advocate for the project, and engage end users while demonstrating respect and consideration.
