About The Position

The Epic LabBeaker Blood Bank Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, optimization, testing, and support of the Epic LabBeaker Blood Bank application and other related solutions and applications integrated with Epic. This position serves as the primary application expert for blood bank lab workflows, collaborating with laboratory leadership, transfusion medicine specialists, pathologists, laboratory staff, Information Technology, and operational stakeholders to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of blood bank information systems and lab information systems. The Analyst supports all phases of the application life-cycle, including workflow analysis, system configuration, integrated testing, regulatory compliance, application upgrades, production support, and ongoing optimization. This role is critical in supporting patient safety, transfusion services, laboratory operations, and compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Nursing, or a related healthcare field required.
  • Three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • EPIC assessment completion.
  • EPIC certification must be obtained and maintained according to organizational requirements.
  • MT/MLS (ASCP) or other Nationally Accepted Laboratory Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation, configuration, maintenance, optimization, testing, and support of the Epic LabBeaker Blood Bank application and other related solutions and applications integrated with Epic.
  • Serve as the primary application expert for blood bank lab workflows.
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership, transfusion medicine specialists, pathologists, laboratory staff, Information Technology, and operational stakeholders.
  • Ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of blood bank information systems and lab information systems.
  • Support all phases of the application life-cycle, including workflow analysis, system configuration, integrated testing, regulatory compliance, application upgrades, production support, and ongoing optimization.
  • Support patient safety, transfusion services, laboratory operations, and compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements.
  • Provide on-call coverage for weeknights and weekends after project go-live to support critical issues that impact patient care, billing, or revenue cycle operations.
