Environmental Services Technician - Advocate/Atrium Health Lincoln - Mid-shift Full-Time
About The Position
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, handling cleaning chemicals, removing waste, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and infection-controlled working environment. This role requires adherence to procedures, guidelines, and departmental standards, as well as participation in required training. The position involves both indoor and occasional outdoor cleaning tasks, potentially including the use of ladders. The work environment can be stressful, fast-paced, and involve exposure to contaminated areas, extreme temperatures, unpleasant smells, and individuals with various health conditions.

Responsibilities
- Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to: Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; Vacuuming and shampooing carpet; Re-stocking restrooms; Replacing light bulbs; Reporting repairs.
- Handles heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
- Removes waste by: Collecting and transporting soiled linen; Emptying trash containers; Changing sharps containers; Transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors; Recycling material; Emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
- Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
- Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
- Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
- Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
