The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing surfaces, sweeping, scrubbing, refinishing floors, vacuuming carpets, re-stocking restrooms, and replacing light bulbs. The role also involves removing waste, including collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash and sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste, recycling materials, and emptying cigarette receptacles. The technician will maintain equipment, ensure a safe working environment, comply with infection control guidelines, and attend required training. Some outdoor cleaning and occasional use of a ladder may be required. This position involves significant contact with cleaning chemicals and disinfecting agents.
