About The Position

The Environmental Service Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, handling cleaning chemicals, removing waste, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and quality working environment. This role involves adhering to infection control guidelines and attending required training. The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, with a schedule of 7 am - 3:30 pm, including one weekend day per week. The pay range is $18.85 - $28.30 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to: Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures, Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures, Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors, Vacuuming and shampooing carpet, Re-stocking restrooms, Replacing light bulbs, Reporting repairs.
• Assists with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof, which may involve the use of a ladder.
• Handles cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
• Removes waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling material, and emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
• Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
• Maintains a safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
• Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
• Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
