About The Position

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is hiring an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) / Housekeeping team member at its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. The role helps maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff, supporting patient recovery and visitor satisfaction. The position is per diem (PRN), with shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, including weekday and weekend shifts. Compensation is $19.30 per hour plus a shift differential. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for experienced candidates only.

The hospital provides care for individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. The employer offers an orientation program, a company-matching 401(k) plan subject to eligibility, and potential advancement to full-time opportunities. Per diem employees must work six shifts per six-week schedule, including at least three weekend shifts on Saturdays or Sundays.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience.
• Must be available to work six shifts per six-week schedule, with three shifts on weekends (Saturday or Sunday).

• Previous hospital EVS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain clean and welcoming hospital halls, stations, waiting rooms, and patient rooms.
• Report repair issues and needs daily or as needed to help maintain the quality and appearance of the physical plant.
• Keep floors clean and safe by dust mopping and wet mopping as necessary.
• Clean and polish metal trim, furnishings, and equipment as necessary; wash walls, windows, and beds as assigned.
• Strip, wax, and buff floors as assigned, following safety precautions.
• Assist with moving furniture as requested.
• Replenish soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other disposable supplies.
