About The Position

The Environmental Services Tech cleans and disinfects patient-care and public areas of MercyOne Northeast Iowa in accordance with cleanliness standards. The role performs patient and resident room cleaning to maintain a clean, sanitary environment, as well as cleaning in administrative and support areas. The Tech also performs special functions and requirements to keep work areas neat, orderly, and available for use; maintains clean, orderly, and operational equipment, carts, and closets; contributes to department safety, security, and efficiency; and demonstrates proper floor-cleaning procedures and equipment care. The position follows MercyOne’s performance expectations and carries out related duties in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing job duties.
Mandatory Reporter.
If driving, a valid Iowa driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Ability to work with a large degree of independence.
Professional image.
Ability to be sensitive to customer needs.
Basic computer skills.
