About The Position

As an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health, you will help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. Communication and collaboration with team members help ensure continuity of service and a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and develop skills.

The role is based at Troy Hospital in the Environmental Services department. It is part-time, with 20 scheduled hours per week, a day shift from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., variable workdays, and every-other-weekend coverage. The employee may be expected to work across department sites to meet coverage and business needs.

Requirements

• No experience is required; training and support are provided.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store the equipment and supplies needed to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating through the hospital.
• Work within one cleaning area and, as needed, across department sites for coverage and business needs.
