About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors while following established departmental procedures and standards. The role involves detailed cleaning to meet hygiene and safety requirements and providing excellent customer service throughout the hospital. The technician contributes to a secure and welcoming environment through a strong work ethic, careful attention to cleanliness and safety, and responsive service.

Responsibilities include daily and checkout cleaning of patient rooms, including medical equipment, as well as intensive cleaning in specialty areas such as the Emergency Department, Surgery, and Pharmacy. The position also handles soiled linens, trash, infectious waste, and recycling according to departmental procedures. Customer assistance takes priority over other duties, and workers follow the organizational customer service script when cleaning occupied rooms.

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform the six-step daily cleaning procedure in patient rooms to a level acceptable to the patient.
• Perform checkout cleaning in patient rooms according to departmental policies and procedures, including cleaning medical equipment.
• Perform intensive cleaning in specialty areas such as the Emergency Department, Surgery, and Pharmacy to eliminate infection risk to patients.
• Remove and transport soiled linens, trash, infectious waste, and recycling according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Prioritize assisting customers above all other duties.
• Follow the organizational customer service script when cleaning an occupied room.
