About The Position

Xanitos is hiring a full-time Environmental Service Supervisor for the second shift at Olean Medical Group in Hinsdale, New York. The role assists with supervising an assigned hospital Environmental Services Department under the direction and guidance of the Environmental Services Department Director. Duties include establishing and enforcing work standards with the Director, monitoring inventory and equipment usage, problem solving, training department staff, maintaining customer relations, and supporting special projects. The position provides hands-on training intended to prepare the incumbent to support the operational duties of a department. The schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed for projects. The hourly pay rate is $21.00. The role requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and at least one year of janitorial or housekeeping industry experience. Leadership or management experience is highly desired; medical cleaning experience is a plus. A post-offer medical evaluation, background screening, and drug test are required. The job involves frequent physical activity, including standing and walking for long periods, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and assisting staff with lifting or moving patients using approved lifting devices. There may be exposure to chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment. Employees must be proficient with Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in the janitorial or housekeeping industry.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Customer service skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet goals and objectives.
Sense of urgency, ability to meet deadlines, and self-direction.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods and frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Ability to regularly assist staff members and use approved lifting devices to lift or move patients.
Post-offer medical evaluation, background screening, and drug test are required.

Responsibilities

Participate in all in-services for the Environmental Services Department.
Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties.
Conduct quality assurance checks and manage materials inventory and general equipment use.
Ensure staff receive proper initial training in their assigned areas and tasks.
Provide individual guidance and motivation to help staff perform to their fullest potential.
Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment.

Assist in supervising the assigned hospital Environmental Services Department under the direction of the Environmental Services Department Director.
