About The Position

The EVS Tech assists the Director in maintaining high-quality standards by keeping the Director informed about the condition of assigned areas and by training, supervising, and motivating Environmental Services personnel. The role ensures scheduled work is followed and completed. The employee must be able to operate floor-care equipment safely, handle department tools and supplies, and meet the physical and communication requirements of the position. Clearance by Employee Health is required before working in patient areas.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some computer skills.
• Ability to safely operate all types of floor-care equipment without assistance.
• Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, lift, and reach repeatedly.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to handle and operate full linen and trash carts.
• Satisfactory hearing, sight, and vision.
• Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Must be cleared by Employee Health before working in patient areas.

Nice To Haves

• Some college experience.
• Previous supervisory experience, preferably in housekeeping or Environmental Services.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Director informed about the condition of assigned areas.
• Train, supervise, and motivate Environmental Services personnel.
• Ensure scheduled work is followed and completed.
• Safely operate and handle floor-care equipment.
• Handle full linen and trash carts, equipment, chemicals, supplies, and other tools required by the department.
