About The Position

GHD is seeking an Environmental Project Coordinator to join their Environmental Assessment and Remediation Group. This role will support Project Managers and Project Directors in executing major mining and oil & gas projects. Responsibilities include nurturing client relationships, planning and coordinating site assessments, analyzing environmental data, and developing environmentally responsible solutions to meet regulatory obligations. The position can be based in various GHD offices across Canada. The role involves contaminated sites investigation and remediation design, team collaboration, professional supervision and mentoring of junior staff, project coordination from proposal to execution, client engagement, maintaining health, safety, quality, and environment KPIs, and driving a culture of innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor and/or master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Geology or related discipline
  • 3 to 7 years of experience with contaminated site assessments, remediation and reclamation
  • Expertise in field assessments, technical reporting and project management
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • PEng or PGeo license
  • Experience working on mining and/or oil & gas projects

Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of engineering and scientific solutions for contaminated sites investigation and remediation design to meet closure requirements, conforming to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
  • Participating in a team environment, working closely with other Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Project Directors, Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
  • Providing effective field and office mentoring of more junior environmental practitioners' professional development.
  • Assisting with project resourcing, systems, and processes to ensure timely delivery of services meeting client requirements and budgets with strong technical abilities.
  • Assisting Project Managers and Project Directors from proposal through to execution in accordance with project management and quality performance metrics.
  • Working on a portfolio of projects reporting to the Business Group Leader (BGL) on both federally and provincially regulated projects for several clients.
  • Nurturing important client relationships and engaging with industry networks; working with Project Managers and Project Directors to ensure delivery of an enhanced client experience.
  • Maintaining health, safety, quality, and environment key performance indicators (KPIs) and behaviors.
  • Driving a culture of innovation by creating multistakeholder solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration across business units.
