About The Position

Housekeeping positions provide a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff of UNC Hospitals. The role cleans and disinfects hospital areas according to prescribed procedures and standards and does not provide direct patient care. This is a full-time, onsite position working an evening schedule at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for 40 hours per week. The position is employed by UNC Health Care System and includes UNC Health benefits.

Responsibilities

Clean, dust, disinfect, mop, restock, remove trash from, and inspect occupied patient rooms.
Clean discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients.
Clean support and critical care areas, including nurses' stations, lounges, intensive care units, and isolation rooms.
Enter data into the bed tracking system.
Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
May serve as a team leader by planning and scheduling tasks, assigning work, training staff, controlling bed tracking, and inspecting areas throughout the hospital.
Strip, wax, dust mop, and damp mop floors; vacuum, bonnet, and extract carpets.
Train and instruct new housekeepers in proper hospital policies and procedures.
