About The Position

Environmental Health Tech housekeeping positions provide a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff of UNC Hospitals. The role cleans and disinfects hospital areas according to prescribed procedures and standards and does not provide direct patient care. The position is full-time, onsite, and scheduled as a day job at UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh, North Carolina, for 40 standard hours per week. The listed hiring range is $18.00–$24.66 per hour; pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.

Responsibilities

• Clean occupied patient rooms by dusting, disinfecting, mopping, restocking, removing trash, and inspecting rooms.
• Clean discharge rooms in a timely manner so they are ready for incoming patients.
• Clean support and critical-care areas, including nurses' stations, lounges, intensive care units, and isolation rooms.
• Enter data into the bed tracking system.
• Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
• May serve as a team leader by planning and scheduling tasks, assigning work, training staff, controlling bed tracking, and inspecting areas throughout the hospital.
• Strip, wax, dust mop, and damp mop floors; vacuum, bonnet, and extract carpets.
• Train and instruct new housekeepers in proper hospital policies and procedures.
