Environmental Service Aide - Full Time - Evening

About The Position

The Environmental Service Aide cleans and sanitizes rooms and furnishings in an assigned work area, following established policies and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital. The role includes cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other facility areas; delivering linen and removing trash; sweeping and mopping patient rooms; maintaining supplies; and performing daily floor-care procedures. The aide also keeps cleaning equipment clean and polished and empties and rinses carts, tanks, and buckets at the end of the shift. Other duties or projects may be assigned in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The position follows HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Nice To Haves

Previous Environmental Service or housekeeping experience.
High school diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED-equivalent program.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other facility areas in a timely manner.
Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas.
Sweep and mop patient rooms.
Maintain adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on the cleaning cart and in the janitor’s closet.
Consistently perform daily floor-care procedures.
Keep equipment clean and polished; empty and rinse carts, tanks, and buckets at the end of the shift.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned according to hospital policies and procedures.
Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
