About The Position
Housekeeping positions provide a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff of UNC Hospitals. The role cleans and disinfects hospital areas according to prescribed procedures and standards and does not provide direct patient care. This is a full-time, onsite position with a day work schedule in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and 40 standard hours per week.
Requirements
- No prior experience required.
- No education requirement.
- No licensure or certification required.
Responsibilities
- Clean, dust, disinfect, mop, restock, remove trash from, and inspect occupied patient rooms.
- Clean discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients.
- Clean support and critical care areas, including nurses' stations, lounges, intensive care units, and isolation rooms.
- Enter data into the bed tracking system.
- Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
- May serve as a team leader by planning and scheduling tasks, assigning work, training staff, managing bed tracking, and inspecting hospital areas.
- Strip, wax, dust mop, and damp mop floors; vacuum, bonnet, and extract carpets.
- Train and instruct new housekeepers in hospital policies and procedures.
