About The Position

Housekeeping positions provide a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff at UNC Hospitals. The role cleans and disinfects hospital areas according to prescribed procedures and standards and does not provide direct patient care. The position is full time, onsite in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with a day-job schedule and 40 standard hours per week. The listed hiring range is $18.00 to $24.66 per hour; pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.

Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, mop, restock, remove trash from, and inspect occupied patient rooms.
Clean discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients.
Clean support and critical care areas, including nurses' stations, lounges, intensive care units, and isolation rooms.
Enter data into the bed tracking system.
Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
May serve as a team leader, planning and scheduling tasks, assigning work, training staff, managing bed tracking, and inspecting areas throughout the hospital.
Strip, wax, dust mop, and damp mop floors.
Vacuum, bonnet, and extract carpets.
Train and instruct new housekeepers in hospital policies and procedures.
