This role serves as the EHS and Sustainability subject matter expert for Century Mold's Tennessee operations, developing, implementing, and continuously improving company-wide EHS, environmental, and sustainability programs across multiple facilities. The position partners with operational leaders to ensure EHS objectives support business goals, customer requirements, and operational excellence initiatives, establishing annual EHS performance goals and driving accountability through key metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also leads the development of a proactive safety culture that emphasizes employee engagement, ownership, and risk prevention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Multi-site EHS leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Tennessee environmental regulations.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Experience managing regulatory audits and compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and leadership skills.

  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional).
  • CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
  • ISO 14001 experience.
  • Experience supporting EcoVadis or comparable sustainability frameworks.
  • Plastic injection molding or automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Environmental permitting experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the EHS and Sustainability subject matter expert for Century Mold's Tennessee operations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide EHS, environmental, and sustainability programs across multiple facilities.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure EHS objectives support business goals, customer requirements, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Establish annual EHS performance goals and drive accountability through key metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the development of a proactive safety culture that emphasizes employee engagement, ownership, and risk prevention.
  • Provide direct EHS leadership and support for both Tennessee manufacturing facilities.
  • Standardize safety, environmental, and sustainability programs across locations while addressing site-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits, audits, and leadership reviews to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary EHS liaison between plant leadership teams and executive management.
  • Lead all safety programs including but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, Emergency Response, Contractor Safety, Behavior-Based Safety Programs.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for leaders and employees.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action development, and effectiveness verification.
  • Analyze injury, near-miss, and safety performance trends and implement preventive strategies.
  • Chair safety committee activities and emergency response planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Manage waste handling, disposal, recycling, emissions, and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Oversee environmental permit compliance and maintain required records and documentation.
  • Lead environmental inspections, risk assessments, and corrective action efforts.
  • Lead initiatives supporting the company's environmental and sustainability objectives.
  • Manage programs supporting EcoVadis, customer sustainability requirements, supplier responsibility expectations, and other sustainability frameworks.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Human Resources to ensure compliance with customer, corporate, and certification standards.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of management systems associated with environmental and sustainability certifications.
  • Develop and track sustainability metrics including waste reduction, recycling, energy usage, environmental impact reduction, and related performance indicators.
  • Prepare management reviews and sustainability reporting for executive leadership and customers.
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Conduct internal audits and oversee corrective action programs.
  • Prepare facilities for customer audits, regulatory inspections, and certification audits.
  • Monitor changing regulatory requirements and implement necessary compliance measures.
  • Maintain all required records and reporting documentation.
  • Mentor site-level safety representatives, supervisors, and safety committee members.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers regarding EHS expectations and compliance obligations.
  • Build employee engagement through awareness campaigns, training programs, and recognition initiatives.
