About The Position

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is hiring a full-time Environmental Aide I for its Environmental Services Department. The role is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., including every other weekend, and has a starting rate of $18.50 per hour. The position supports a clean and safe healthcare environment by cleaning and disinfecting nursing units, patient rooms, and other designated facility areas. Work includes handling bodily fluids and biohazardous materials.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED/equivalent required, or must obtain one within 1 year of employment.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to bend, push, pull, and lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Prior housekeeping experience in a hospital or institutional setting.
1–2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a relevant area.

Responsibilities

Use appropriate cleaning equipment to clean nursing units, patient rooms, and designated facility areas, including floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, and furniture.
Follow department policies and procedures for cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
Clean up major spills when necessary and respond to pages in a timely manner.
Clean and restock housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
Remove trash and linen throughout the hospital.
Follow directions for preparing cleaning solutions and handling biohazard materials.
Periodically check the assigned area for environmental needs.
Report repairs to Maintenance.
Attend monthly department meetings to stay informed about changes in Environmental Services.
Handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
