About The Position

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is hiring a full-time Patient Transporter. The required schedule is 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., including every other weekend. The starting rate is $18.50 per hour. The Patient Transporter escorts and transports patients to designated areas within the facility, assists patients with walking or wheelchair use, carries luggage, and delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items. The role follows written or verbal instructions and includes other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED/equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work well under time constraints.
Ability to stand for long periods and bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
May be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat while performing job duties.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Ascertain the patient's name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other information, following written or verbal instructions.
Guide or escort incoming patients from the admitting office or reception desk to a designated area.
Carry patients' luggage.
Assist patients with walking to help prevent falls, or transport non-ambulatory patients using a wheelchair.
Transport patients, alone or with assistance, in a bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility during their stay.
Deliver messages, mail, medical records, and other items.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
