Responsibilities
- Act as a primary point of contact and the face of GitLab for prospects and customers within the US Southeast region
- Drive, manage, and execute the business and revenue of a sales team for the US Southeast Area
- Analyze market dynamics to maximize existing successes and create new sales growth opportunities
- Prepare forecasts, territory/industry management, and growth plans
- Educate team on significant industry factors including competitive products, regulations, trends, customer needs, and pricing
- Establish and report on metrics to measure team performance and correct deficiencies if necessary
- Ensure that the sales plan aligns with and supports the corporate revenue goal
- Manage a team of 5-10 Strategic Account Leaders and foster a successful and positive team environment
- Bring 10+ years of experience in field sales, operations, and leadership in open source software or software DevOps environment
- Sell to Fortune 500 companies and be willing to "roll up your sleeves" and sell
- Have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives
- Utilize CRM systems and marketing automation systems
- Exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity in changing needs and situations
- Handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
- Build strong relationships and negotiation skills
- Have strong presentation skills and executive-level communication skills
- Mentor others
- Travel as needed
- Share the company's values and work in accordance with them
- Use GitLab effectively
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in field sales, operations, and leadership in open source software or software DevOps environment
- Experience selling to Fortune 500 companies
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives (revenue targets, pipeline targets, etc.)
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and marketing automation systems (such as Salesforce, Clari, Marketo, etc.)
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
- Strong presentation skills; Executive level communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to mentor others
- Ability to travel as needed
- Familiarity with GitLab or ability to use GitLab
