About The Position
TransPerfect is seeking experienced copy-editors or linguists to copy-edit school mathematics textbooks for ESL students in Vietnam, between Grades 2 and 8. The project supports Vietnamese teachers who teach the national curriculum while aligning instruction with global learning outcomes. Its goal is to adapt core textbooks by lowering the English language level where needed and translating selected instructional sections into Vietnamese. The assignment is remote within the EMEA region and calls for weekly availability of 6–8 hours per day during the specified project week or weeks. The listed dates are October 26–November 9, 2026, and January 19–26, 2026. This is a temporary freelance assignment.
Requirements
- Native or native-level proficiency in English.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience teaching English to young learners.
- At least 3 years of copy-editing experience.
- Availability for 6–8 hours per day during the selected project week or weeks.

- Knowledge of the corporate business environment.
- Knowledge of Vietnamese.
Responsibilities
- Conduct substantive editing, including reviewing cultural sensitivity and accuracy, checking artwork logs, and tagging content for translation.
- Edit for sense and consistency, including errors, cross-dependency consistency, headings, key terms, unit-opening and unit-ending features, activities, questions and answers, and glossaries.
- Submit manuscript files with tracked changes enabled and clean copies of the manuscript files.
- Provide copy-edited artwork logs and a final query log with responses, ensuring all queries are actioned in the manuscript before submission.
- Return the client brief with the checklist completed and, if required, notes for the typesetter or proofreader.
