About The Position

This is the third level of the non-engineer degreed technical support job classification. Engineering Technologists III provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and use leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and work with a high degree of independence. The role is hybrid. After onboarding, work is performed from both remote and onsite locations. Hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute of their designated Duke Energy facility, no greater than 50 miles one way, and are expected to report to that facility as required and directed by their manager—on average, three full workdays per regular workweek. Travel requirements are 5–15%.

Requirements

Associate degree in Engineering Technology and four years of related work experience.
Alternatively, a high school diploma or GED and six years of related work experience may substitute for the associate degree and four years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from varied socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Must possess all basic and required qualifications to be considered.
Must be able to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Relevant experience and education alternatives listed in the posting: two or more years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology; four or more years of experience with an associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; or six or more years of equivalent experience without a degree.
