About The Position

This is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support job classification. Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to solve more complex problems and uses leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence. The position follows a hybrid work arrangement after the onboarding period, with work performed from remote and onsite locations. Hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute—no greater than 50 miles one way—to their designated Duke Energy facility and are expected to report to that facility as required and directed by their manager, averaging three full workdays per regular workweek. Travel is 5–15%.

Requirements

Associate degree in Engineering Technology and 4 years of related work experience; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of related work experience may substitute for the associate degree and 4 years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from varied socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Meet one of these experience/education combinations: 2 or more years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology; 4 or more years of experience with an associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; or 6 or more years of equivalent experience without a degree.
Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
