The Engineering Rotational Development Program is an 18-month program providing engineers the opportunity to gain engineering experience in up to three departments within Power Generation, focused on improving PG&E’s electric generating facilities. Senior Engineers in Power Generation provide mentoring. Participants work at generating facilities supporting engineering, Operations & Maintenance, and construction projects. Common tasks include engineering and drawing review and revision, field construction support, design work, and quality-control document and data collection. Rotational assignments may be at any Hydro System engineering office in Redding, Burney, Chico, Auburn, or Auberry; PG&E may temporarily relocate participants to one or more of these offices for a rotation. Successful program completion is determined by a panel and includes obtaining an Engineer-in-Training Certificate. Successful candidates will be interviewed for an Associate Project Engineer position at a location based on Power Generation’s business needs. Power Generation maintains and operates PG&E’s hydroelectric, fossil, and renewable generation facilities, which provide more than 4,000 megawatts of generating capacity. The organization is dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective generation in an environmentally responsible manner. The posted hourly rate is $48.15 for a bachelor’s degree and $52.12 for a master’s degree. Actual pay depends on factors including skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. PG&E cannot provide visa sponsorship to students on F-1, J-1, or other visas for this position.
