Engineering Manager, Platform Engineering

Omada Health is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on building the core technical infrastructure for their operations. The role involves supporting, coaching, and growing a distributed team of engineers, as well as collaborating with other managers and directors to ensure solutions meet expectations. The Engineering Manager will also contribute to architecture and infrastructure decisions, prioritize business goals, and foster a diverse and inclusive environment. Qualifications include experience managing Platform Engineering groups, knowledge of container schedulers and distributed systems, and the ability to attract and retain talent. Support, coach, mentor, and grow a distributed (US only) team of engineers working primarily on systems and infrastructure

Work closely with other managers, directors, and engineers across the organization to ensure that solutions meet expectations and constantly evolve them to stay relevant

Empower the group to make critical contributions to architecture and infrastructure, providing performant, secure, and compliant solutions

Create an environment that celebrates and values different backgrounds, cultures, industry and life experiences

Partner with Security, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders

Evolve how the group interacts with internal and external customers, how it communicates, and prioritizes against business goals

Contribute to code reviews, pairing, and technical conversations

Have a deep understanding of processes, containers, and container schedulers (leveraging Docker, EKS, and AWS)

Be knowledgeable on distributed systems, adequate-size services, and service-oriented architecture

Create strong partnerships with the engineering team and leverage their feedback to prioritize building solutions

Build a roadmap, plan for capacity, evaluate trade-offs, and negotiate with stakeholders

Embed Security practices in everything designed, especially within highly regulated industries

Attract, retain, and grow talents within the organization

Have excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written

• At least 4 years of experience managing Platform Engineering groups
• Ability to contribute to code reviews, pairing, and technical conversations
• Deep understanding of processes, containers, and container schedulers (specifically Docker, EKS, and AWS)
• Knowledgeable on distributed systems, adequate-size services, and service-oriented architecture
• Ability to create strong partnerships with the engineering team and prioritize building solutions based on their feedback
• Experience in highly regulated industries and embedding Security practices in design
• Ability to attract, retain, and grow talents within the organization
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
