Engineering Manager - Neobanking

The Neobanking team at Zepz is seeking a manager to oversee a team of engineers across iOS, Android, and backend development. The team is responsible for delivering Zepz's latest product and acts as a small start-up within the larger organization. The manager will be responsible for recruiting top talent, developing team members, creating roadmaps, and ensuring alignment with company priorities. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience managing teams successfully and experience with managing the design, build, and deployment of user-facing products on cloud-based infrastructure.

• Manage and foster a team of around 10 engineers across iOS, Android, and backend to help achieve team goals
• Act as the initial point of contact for the team and facilitate the inclusion of engineers as required
• Work closely with Product Managers to align on team capacity
• Collaborate with stakeholders, translating requirements into roadmaps
• Recruit top software engineering talent
• Develop talent within the team
• Create a positive, high-performing environment
• Ensure the team is aligned on company priorities, goals, and OKRs
• Participate in engineering tasks such as coding, peer reviews, and building automation tests
• Lead cross-team efforts, highlighting areas of improvement and driving execution
• Motivate team members, drive engagement, and steer professional development
• Have strong communications and presentation skills, be comfortable with presenting at the executive level
• Be technically accountable for the overall health, continuous improvement, and evolution of the neobanking domain
• Champion a mindset focused on maintaining a high standard for quality and operational resilience
• Be decisive and opinionated on what good software engineering practices look like
• Have experience managing teams successfully
• Have experience with managing the design, build, and deployment of user-facing products on cloud-based infrastructure
• Have experience with Python, PostgreSQL, GCP, iOS (Swift), and Android (Kotlin) development (a plus)
• Have experience with banking and/or payment systems.
