About the position
This role is a Reconciliation Analyst for Correspondents within Zepz's financial operations team. The main responsibility is to perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and identify opportunities for streamlining and automation. The role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work within deadlines. Experience in reconciliations, audit/accounts preparation, or forensic accounting is preferred. Responsibilities
- Perform correspondent reconciliations in line with the timetable, process, and controls in place
- Use a reconciliation tool to match data with statements received from correspondents
- Identify and prepare summaries of outstanding items to be queried
- Liaise with FinOps colleagues, internal teams, and correspondents to investigate and resolve reconciling items
- Raise and post journals for necessary adjustments from the investigation of reconciling items
- Attend and actively participate in review meetings, providing accurate status updates and raising queries or issues
- Identify improvements to make the process or reporting more efficient and improve controls
- Support Manager and colleagues with internal or external audit requests
- Participate in ad hoc tasks such as reporting or projects
- Have experience in reconciliations, audit/accounts preparation, working in a shared-service center, or forensic accounting
- Work with large balance sheet reconciliations using a reconciliation tool
- Pay attention to detail and have a methodical approach to completing deliverables
- Be a team player with strong communication skills
- Work to deadlines and adapt to plan changes
- Have strong Excel skills and understanding of bookkeeping
- Relevant sector experience is advantageous.
Requirements
- Experience in reconciliations, audit/accounts preparation, working in a shared-service center, or forensic accounting
- Familiarity with working with large balance sheet reconciliations using a reconciliation tool
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing deliverables
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changes in plans
- Strong Excel skills and understanding of bookkeeping
- Relevant sector experience is advantageous
