About the position
The job overview for the Engineering Manager, Mobile position at EverCharge is to lead a team of mobile engineers in the development of high-quality mobile applications that support the company's EV charging network. This includes native mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms, as well as hybrid applications. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the mobile applications align with business objectives, user needs, and technical requirements. They will also be responsible for managing the mobile development process, mentoring and guiding mobile engineers, evaluating new mobile technologies, and ensuring comprehensive testing and seamless integration with charging hardware.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of mobile applications for EV charging network
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mobile applications with business objectives, user needs, and technical requirements
- Manage the mobile development process from estimation to deployment
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices in software engineering
- Mentor and guide mobile engineers in career development and performance management
- Evaluate and recommend new mobile technologies, frameworks, and tools
- Collaborate with QA team for comprehensive testing of mobile applications
- Manage the release of mobile applications to app stores
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to integrate mobile applications with charging hardware
- Manage and allocate resources effectively for project completion within budget and timelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in mobile application development, with expertise in iOS and/or Android platforms.
- Experience in leading a team of mobile engineers, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile applications.
- Experience in developing mobile applications that integrate with hardware devices or IoT devices.
- Experience in developing mobile applications for the transportation or energy industry.
- Knowledge of EV Charging protocols such as OCPP, OCPP-J, ISO15118 etc.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Strong technical skills in mobile development, including native app development, hybrid app development, and coding standards.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage the mobile development process.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide mobile engineers in career development and performance management.
- Experience in comprehensive testing of mobile applications, including functional, performance, and security testing.
- Experience in managing the release of mobile applications to app stores.
- Ability to integrate mobile applications with charging hardware and ensure seamless user experiences.
- Effective resource management and project completion within budget and timelines.

- Base salary range between $180,000 and $250,000
