About the position
The job overview for this position is that Airbnb is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Cancellation team within the Guest & Host organization. The manager will be responsible for defining the strategy to improve and scale the product's cancellation section. Responsibilities
- Define the strategy for improving and scaling the Cancellation section of the product
- Optimize and experiment to support top-level OKRs, including revenue and conversion impact
- Manage critical dependencies for company's largest launches
- Lead and mentor a team of software developers
- Attract top talent and manage conflict within the team
- Nurture a culture of technical quality from design to production
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and communicate a clear vision and priorities
- Plan, track, and report on the work of the team
- Possess 3+ years of engineering management experience and 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Be a strong problem solver and have experience leading a team that is on-call for production systems
- Be passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality.
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering management experience, with 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the engineering organization
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience leading a team that is on-call for production systems
- Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality
Benefits
- Starting base pay between $200,000 and $254,000
- Bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits may be eligible
- Remote work option with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites
