About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Engineering Field Technician I to join its Building & Construction team in DuPont, Washington. The role performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or according to detailed controlled procedures. It offers an opportunity to develop a career in construction inspections and materials testing.

Requirements

• Some experience in the construction industry or related fields.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally handle over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and distinguish sounds.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous construction materials testing experience.
• Certifications such as ACI, ICC, or WAQTC.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment and conduct tests, such as soil and concrete testing, and report assessments of the data.
• Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Apply specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
