About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Engineering Field Technician I to join its Building & Construction team in DuPont, Washington. The position performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or according to detailed controlled procedures. The role supports construction inspections and materials testing, including operating testing equipment, assessing data, and documenting results. The position is on-site. The stated base pay range is $28–$35 per hour; individual compensation depends on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

Some experience in the construction industry or related fields.
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and distinguish sounds.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous construction materials testing experience.
Certifications such as ACI, ICC, or WAQTC.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct testing, such as soil and concrete testing, and assess data through reporting.
Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Use specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
