About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Engineering Field Technician I to join its Building & Construction team in Dupont, Washington. The role involves performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision or according to detailed controlled procedures. The position supports construction inspections and materials testing, including testing materials such as soil and concrete, reporting assessment data, and documenting results.

Requirements

Some experience in the construction industry or related fields.
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds, and occasionally handle over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discriminate sounds.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous construction materials testing experience.
Certifications such as ACI, ICC, or WAQTC.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct tests, such as soil and concrete testing, and report assessments of the data.
Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Apply specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
