Engineering Delivery Manager II

Deloitte•Jersey City, NJ
•$107,700 - $221,200•Onsite

About The Position

As a Delivery Manager in Deloitte's Product Engineering organization, you are accountable for day-to-day, program-level execution across one or more product teams working toward shared intents. Delivery follows an intent-driven model with concurrent governance, execution, and learning layers. Work advances in evidence-gated dashes rather than sprints, with deployed evidence used to confirm that intended behavior has changed. The role centers on judgment-based delivery work, including cross-team coordination, stakeholder alignment, dependency management, and operational discipline. You coordinate significant initiatives or related programs, orchestrate internal stakeholders, reconcile AI-drafted artifacts, and maintain evidence-gate integrity. You also support cost-efficient adoption of LLMs, agentic AI, and cloud platforms through governance, FinOps practices, and consumption optimization. You will work within Deloitte Technology Product Engineering's Product, Experience, Engineering, and Delivery capability matrix to deliver digital solutions for businesses, service lines, and internal operations. The position requires a minimum of three days per week in a local office, commutable distance to a listed location, and average travel of 10%. Recruiting for this role ends September 22, 2026.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of delivery management experience, including direct leadership of a cross-functional program or set of programs with meaningful dependencies and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in an Agile or Lean model and readiness to work in intent-driven, evidence-gated delivery patterns.
  • Experience in a product-staffed model where durable product teams remain with their products through build, deploy, operate, and evolve.
  • Strong expertise in AI/Cloud FinOps, budget management, financial forecasting, vendor management, cost optimization, and data-driven delivery governance.
  • Ability to travel an average of 10%, depending on work and clients or industries served.
  • Must be located within commuting distance of one of the listed locations.
  • Ability to work in the local office at least three days per week.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others.

Nice To Haves

  • Track record managing dependencies, surfacing risks, and driving alignment across teams that do not naturally coordinate with one another.
  • Engineering fluency sufficient to follow technical discussions, ask useful questions, and constructively challenge feasibility claims.
  • Comfort measuring delivery by outcome validation rather than velocity proxies and maintaining evidence-gate discipline.
  • Fluency with current GenAI assistants and agentic delivery tools, including directing AI output for status, risk, and coordination tasks.
  • Ability to read and reason about charter, persona, intent, constitution, and blueprint artifacts and understand how they govern a program.
  • Clear writing and ability to present to senior stakeholders without over-formatting, including communicating bad news candidly.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate one significant initiative or a set of related programs, ensuring dashes begin when work slices are ready and conclude when deployed evidence confirms the intended behavior shifted.
  • Orchestrate day-to-day program-level engagement with internal Deloitte stakeholders and reconcile AI-drafted artifacts with stakeholder-provided briefs.
  • Drive cost-efficient adoption of LLM, agentic AI, and cloud platforms through governance, FinOps practices, and consumption optimization.
  • Maintain operational integrity of evidence-gated delivery, including reading proof signals, honoring harm watches, and respecting exit gates before expanding slices.
  • Engage product teams on structure, skills, leverage models, and measurement to deliver customer and business outcomes.
  • Scope dashes around ready slices and observable evidence rather than sprint boundaries.
  • Champion fit-for-context delivery methodologies and work with Product Managers to set priorities and execution.
  • Form skilled teams, remove roadblocks, establish an appropriate cadence, surface coordination friction, and escalate issues beyond your authority to the Delivery Leader.
  • Foster delivery excellence, program value delivery, and team growth; coach junior professionals through pairing, observation, and feedback.
  • Experiment with tools such as GenAI and support the AI Workflow Orchestrator by understanding AI-driven workflows and how exceptions are routed.
  • Share knowledge through community sessions.
  • Serve as the contact for value achievement across product engineering teams; communicate accurate status, surface trade-offs, recommend paths, drive decisions, and facilitate co-creation workshops.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Experience, and cross-functional groups; maintain a live view of dependencies across product teams and platform services.
  • Manage conflict, foster collaboration, and enable cross-skilling.
  • Apply SDLC expertise with continuous planning and refinement; identify drift between intent and execution, raise it early, manage risk, adapt scope, and support continuous improvement.
  • Drive lean solutions through rapid experimentation and engage customers before, during, and after delivery.
  • Build inclusive, engaged teams; remove obstacles; coach; improve satisfaction and reduce attrition.
  • Govern intake of AI-drafted artifacts so they become useful inputs, and report on financials, innovation, and engagement while driving efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage relationships with program sponsors and affected stakeholders, informing them in proportion to their stake and reconciling conflicting AI-generated artifacts.
  • Acquire domain-specific knowledge and navigate enterprise functions to drive product value and organizational alignment.

Benefits

  • Employees are offered a broad range of benefits.
  • Eligible employees may participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to its rules and applicable factors.
  • Opportunities to build skills, take on leadership opportunities, connect and grow through mentorship, and participate in on-the-job learning and formal development programs.
