About The Position

The Program Manager II - Engineering designs and delivers custom System-on-Modules (SOMs) and Single Board Computers (SBCs), managing complex multidisciplinary hardware programs from concept through production. Reporting directly to the Director of Hardware Engineering, the position serves as the primary project management authority for the group rather than operating within a centralized PMO. The role manages customer-specific, independently scoped programs and requires expertise in Atlassian tools and hands-on experience with hardware development in an electronics design and manufacturing environment. It is a hybrid position in Irvine, California. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. The position typically manages five concurrent SOM/SBC co-development programs, overseeing schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, resources, customer communication, and production release. It configures and maintains program information in Jira, Confluence, and BigPicture or an equivalent extension, and prepares regular internal and customer reports. The Program Manager coordinates globally distributed engineering teams and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, while supporting quality and safety standards and continuous improvement of project management practices.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and BigPicture or an equivalent extension, including the ability to configure and administer projects from scratch.
  • Strong command of project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, variance tracking, and cost reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal cross-functional communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships at a technical level.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple hardware development programs simultaneously in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build and use tools to synthesize project data into actionable reporting.
  • Deep understanding of cross-functional interdependencies in hardware product development, from schematic through manufacturing hand-off.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management discipline.
  • Working knowledge of embedded hardware development processes, including PCB design cycle, BOM management, NPI, and DVT/PVT stages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools for financial and schedule tracking.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of program or project management experience in an electronics design and manufacturing environment; hardware development experience is required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • PMP or PMI certification.
  • Experience with NXP i.MX, TI, or similar embedded processor platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program management for typically five concurrent custom SOM/SBC co-development programs, from project initiation through production release.
  • Define, plan, and maintain detailed project schedules, milestone plans, and financial budgets in alignment with customer commitments and internal targets.
  • Manage priorities, direction, and resource allocation across active programs.
  • Identify, track, and proactively mitigate project risks; escalate issues to the Engineering Director with options and recommendations.
  • Manage cost targets established by Senior Management and track actual costs against budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stand up, configure, and maintain projects in Jira, Confluence, BigPicture, or an equivalent extension.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date project plans and associated collateral in line with Ezurio engineering process requirements.
  • Generate and present weekly snapshot reports for internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Produce and present program status reports to the Senior Leadership Team, including schedule health, budget variance, and key risks.
  • Serve as the primary project management interface for customers throughout the co-development lifecycle, communicating scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Lead and coordinate globally distributed engineering teams across hardware, software, RF, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Partner with department heads to manage shared resources across concurrent programs.
  • Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality activities to meet product development requirements and customer commitments.
