About The Position

The Engineering Program Manager manages Engineering and QA issues during development and sustaining business at customer accounts for NMBTC. The role serves as a main technical and project contact for customers, design centers, factories, and other stakeholders, and provides guidance and support as a subject matter expert on assigned projects. It coordinates customer and internal Engineering and QA teams, drives issue closure, supports product design and development, and maintains project plans and schedules. The position also provides technical and quality support, including assistance with customer audits at factories and coordination of customer applications across engineering, application engineering, factory, marketing, and sales teams. The Engineering Program Manager identifies process improvements, tracks project performance and resolves roadblocks, develops customer relationships, and stays current on industry trends and opportunities for Minebea products. The role has no supervisory requirements.

Requirements

Three to five years of engineering experience in a related field.
Ability to work in a cross-functional and international organization.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and drawing/design software.
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
English language skills.

Nice To Haves

Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
Drawing/design software experience, preferably SolidWorks.
Minitab statistical software skills.
Solid knowledge of ball and roller bearings and grease tribology.

Responsibilities

Support Account Managers, manufacturer’s representatives, and the Business Unit Manager.
Serve as the main technical and project contact for customers, design centers, factories, and other stakeholders.
Act as a main point of contact between customer Engineering and QA staff and NMB Engineering and QA teams.
Provide guidance and support to team members as a subject matter expert on assigned projects.
Own communication and closure of Engineering issues between the NMB engineering division, factories, and customers.
Prepare and deliver project-status, risk, and findings presentations to customers and NMB management.
Cooperatively design solutions with customers, considering NMB Design and Production Engineering requirements and customer requirements, and/or provide NMB Engineering teams with information about customer product applications and design requirements.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans and ensure milestones are met on schedule.
Drive closure of quality issues with customer and internal NMB stakeholders.
Provide customers with technical information about products, technology, production capabilities, design for manufacturing, and business-unit initiatives.
Support customer Engineering and Quality audits at factories by preparing team members for customer expectations.
Identify new applications and coordinate customer application development with engineering teams, application engineers, factories, marketing, and sales staff.
Identify process improvements, make recommendations, and implement resolutions.
Track project progress and performance, identifying and resolving roadblocks.
Work with account managers, customers, NMB internal groups, factories, and Minebea Headquarters to identify customer needs and solutions.
Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices and evaluate opportunities to introduce Minebea products to potential new customers.
Nurture relationships at all levels with customers and visit them regularly, independently or in coordination with the sales team, for engineering discussions.
Perform other duties related to the job function as required.
